Codependency

Codependency is often associated with addiction and romantic partnerships though can occur without alcohol or drug use and in non-romantic relationships. Dependence on alcohol, drugs, other people, or certain behaviors, such as avoidance, people pleasing, criticizing, and clinging, can be motivated by fears of abandonment, loneliness, inadequacy, and failure.

My Experience

Max helps individuals who struggle with issues of codependency by focusing on what past experiences, fears, and beliefs are beneath their dependence on others. Although facing these underlying experiences, fears, and beliefs can be scary and uncomfortable, Max’s clients tend to find this approach to ultimately bring forward feelings of liberation, empowerment, and freedom.
