Prejudice, Oppression, and Cultural Issues

Dominant culture sends implicit and explicit messages to non-white ethnicities, immigrants, women, gender non-conformists, non-heterosexuals, other-abled bodies, and neurodiverse minds that they are inferior. These messages can be reinforced by family members, loved ones, the media, coworkers, businesses, and the government. Shame and exclusion results from these messages.

Max’s experience

Max has experience working with individuals struggling with prejudice, oppression, bias, and cultural issues related to identities such as Asian, Black, Filipino, Indian, Latino, female, immigrant, and LGBTQ. He helps these marginalized groups uncover adopted beliefs of inferiority, defectiveness, and shame from dominant culture and replace them with self love, acceptance, and understanding.
